Setting clear priorities and goals helps focus the City’s limited resources on the areas deemed most important by the City Council.  The City’s priorities and goals were updated through a collaborative and public process and adopted on August 3, 2026.

There are five main priorities: 

1. Strengthening Quality of Life and Community Safety

2. Dedication to Infrastructure and Enhancement of Community Assets

3. Focus on Fiscal Sustainability and Economic Investment

4. Pursuit of Housing and Homelessness Solutions

5. Commitment to Excellence in Service Delivery

These priority areas, along with goals and action items, establish clear, Council-driven direction that supports sound decision-making, promotes long-term budget stability, and ensures that City resources are invested strategically and spent wisely.
