The Stormwater Capture Project at Ganesha Park is designed to capture, treat, and infiltrate urban runoff through an underground system at Ganesha Park. The captured stormwater will help replenish the local water supply and reduce pollutants entering nearby waterways, supporting the goals of Los Angeles County’s Safe, Clean Water Program (SCWP).

The East San Gabriel Valley Watershed Management Group—which includes the cities of Claremont, La Verne, Pomona, and San Dimas—submitted this project to obtain design funding to meet stormwater permit requirements. The Project received funding for the design phase only through the Safe, Clean Water Program’s Regional Program. This program supports projects that improve water quality, boost local water supplies, and provide community benefits such as parks and green spaces. The City plans to submit a future application for construction funding through the same program.
