We’re building a plan to make Pomona’s streets safer for everyone: drivers, pedestrians, bikers, and transit riders.
What’s the goal?
Save lives and prevent serious harm.
How will we get there?
Use real crash data and proven safety strategies.
Prioritize fairness and protect the environment.
Listen to community input every step of the way.
This work is part of the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program—and it’s a public promise to keep everyone in Pomona safe while getting where they need to go.
Your voice matters. Help shape a safer future for your neighborhood.
The Public Works (PW) Department of the City of Pomona is developing a Safety Action Plan (PSAP). The City of Pomona is working on a plan to make our streets safer and easier to get around. This means using real data, proven strategies, and listening to community voices, especially around fairness and the environment. The PSAP will offer both proactive and reactive approaches for addressing safety concerns on all public roads within Pomona
Our goal is a future where no one dies or is seriously hurt in a traffic crash. We're part of the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program, which means we’re committing publicly to work toward reducing traffic deaths. The plan will lay out clear goals and show how we’ll get there, step by step.
Your input matters—and together, we can build a safer community for all.
What is a Safety Action Plan?
A Safety Action Plan is a strategic roadmap designed to improve safety and prevent injuries or fatalities, especially in transportation or workplace settings. It lays out clear goals, data-driven strategies, and specific projects to tackle safety risks.
What It Does
· Identifies safety problems using crash data and trends
· Set goals like reducing or eliminating serious injuries and deaths
· Prioritizes projects and strategies to fix those problems
Who’s Involved
· Developed with input from local governments, community members, and safety experts
· Encourages collaboration across public and private sectors
Why It Matters
· Helps justify funding for safety improvements
· Aligns with national programs like Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A)
· Supports broader goals like equity, sustainability, and economic strength
