Since 1969, City of Pomona residents have paid a tax on their utility bills, which helps to fund a wide array of vital City services. The Utility Users' Tax is applied to electric, gas, telephone and water billings, and presently stands at a rate of nine (9%) percent.
For those households with limited gross incomes, Utility Users' Tax exemption may be available, based upon income and family size.
Utility Tax Code Section 50-218(a) - the gross income levels indicated are for combined gross income of the people in the household.
