City of Pomona Announces Major Construction and Testing Activities for Foothill Gold Line Project

The City of Pomona will experience significant construction and testing activities as part of the 9.1-mile Foothill Gold Line light rail project. These activities will include long-term lane closures, sidewalk closures, and active train testing from Glendora to Pomona. Here’s what residents and businesses need to know:

 

Fulton Rd. & Arrow Hwy Lane & Sidewalk Closures

Intermittent lane and sidewalk closures at the intersection of Fulton Rd. and Arrow Hwy in La Verne and Pomona for the installation of new traffic signals and sidewalks. A full closure of Fulton Rd. north and south of Arrow Hwy will occur at separate times, with details to follow.

-> June 17 - August 31, 2024

-> Work Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Saturday

 

Garey Ave. & Grevillia Ave. Intersection Lane Closures

Construction crews will intermittently close single lanes in each direction at the intersection of Garey Ave. and Grevillia Ave., between Arrow Hwy and Bonita Ave. One lane in each direction will remain open during work hours, and access to residential areas and businesses will be maintained.

-> July 8 - December 31, 2024

-> Work Hours: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday - Saturday

 

Active Train Testing

Daily and nightly train testing will occur throughout the project area, from Barranca Ave in Glendora to Garey Ave in Pomona. Local police and the LA County Sheriff will assist with traffic control at grade crossings.

-> July 15 - Dec 31: Nightly testing from 6:00 PM - 4:30 AM

 

Safety Reminders

-> Traffic: Expect intermittent lane closures and follow all posted construction signs. Do not enter work zones.

-> Train Crossings: Do not walk on train tracks or go around lowered gates. Follow all safety instructions and be aware of active trains.
